Today we were honored to host the 3rd Annual Tribute to Veterans at Mountain Home.
The American Legion Honor Guard – Ider Team participated in this year’s event with the POW table, Flag Folding (with narration of each fold), Rifles, and Taps. Coupled with our small tokens of thanks and recognition for the Veterans in attendance, remembrance of the 94 known Veterans buried at Mountain Home, remarks from Dennis Hall (Marine Corp Veteran) and Rex Beaty, and a rousing rendition of the National Anthem by Jenny Mann.
There are 94 Veterans buried at Mountain Home
3 served in 2 foreign theater campaigns: WWII & Korea
1 in the U.S. Indian Wars
10 in the Civil War
9 in WWI (1 died in base hospital in France)
41 in WWII (1 POW/KIA)
19 in Korea
7 in Vietnam
5 Peacetime Service and 5 unable to confirm time of service.
The oldest marked grave is January 6, 1864, marking the grave of James Craze, Sargent, Company C, 1st Alabama & Tennessee Vidette Cavalry, Civil War.
The youngest and oldest Veterans buried here are:

The event moved outside for Rifles and Taps resonating throughout the cemetery – paying tribute to All Veterans – Past and Present. To them and their families, we say thank you for your service.
