We all have ties to Mountain Home, and many of us live in the community. Our roots are here in the northeastern corner of Alabama, atop Sand Mountain, in northern DeKalb County.
Like most people with family and friends buried at Mountain Home, we feel a deep connection not only to our ancestors or that beautiful hillside, but the Spirit of the Lord. We want to honor the commitments our ancestors made to take care of this place, to show honor and respect for everything at the property, and to include Jesus Christ in all of our actions. This is a holy place, one established out of love – love of God, family, neighbors, church, community, and to a lesser degree love of country.
For many people, Mountain Home is an integral part of their family – for us it is part of our family, it has been a part of our upbringing as children and remains a very important part of our adult lives. Creating a legacy organization to carry on now and after we have passed is a mission we undertook out of the love we have in our hearts for our Savior, our family, our church, our neighbors, and our country.
We hope you will visit the other sections in this About Us tab, and the entire site. Our work to provide long term care for this special place, to document its history, to rekindle connections that have lessened over time, and to give Thanks and Praise to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for all that is accomplished in the course of our work.
We invite your ideas, your thoughts, and your assistance in fulfilling the mission of the Heirs of Mountain Home. Please send us an email at [email protected].
